This week we had a neat opportunity to go to a police breakfast to see Brian honored with the departments' Award of Merit. Brian received this honor for talking a man out of committing suicide. What's even more incredible is that Brian doesn't have any training in crisis intervention and had to do this on the spot. Brian's parents and mine came to watch him receive this award. It was really neat and we are all incredibly proud of him! Here he is as the chief places the medal on his neck.
I know this isn't the best picture, but when I get better ones I'll post them (sorry Bri). Aftrer receiving the award he was asked to give a quick remark.
And of course the highlight for Braden, getting to sit on the "Big Boy" bike.
Brian, we just wanted to say how proud we are of you. That was a lovely event and one that you'll probably never forget...no matter how many more awards you receive during your career. WTG!!!
