Oh Canada!

We are back from our week in Canada at Brian's Grandmother's Cottage. It was really fun. This cottage was built by Brian's great-grandmother after her husband passed away. She raised her children in it, then Brian's grandmother raised her children in it (one of which was Brian's mom), and now Brian's parents are planning to inhabit the cottage occasionally. And so the cottage passes to the next generation.

Here are Braden and Brian the day after we arrived looking out at the dock and Lake Waseosa behind the cottage.
It is a beautiful and peaceful place!

Braden loved going down to the smaller lake in front of the cottage and throwing rocks into the water. There are tons of turtles and frogs here in the summer. If you look real close you can see the ripple of a rock just thrown. It got to the point where Braden would just take off down the road to go to the "little" lake and throw stones. This was the spot of endless amusement for Brae.

Here he is showing his Grandma the fine art of pebble throwing. What a dream come true to be able to throw rocks, not get into trouble for it and get applause to boot!

I came upon this photo opp. of Braden speaking "Braden" to Brian's cousin Johnny, and had to capture the moment. Braden really liked Johnny and he was really good with Braden (even though he had NO idea what Braden was trying to say). They are sitting on the steps of the boat house that sits diagonally to the cottage. Brian's dad has been working on an addition to it for the last two summer's and was in the middle of building a new deck for it.

How much fun did he have? Every time I see new pics, he looks more like a real little boy!! They are no longer babies!! I miss that.
