Time-outs have been really effective with Braden, so much that we rarely have to use them anymore. The other night Brian was relating a phone call he received while at work. The woman would not stop complaining and he was telling me how all he was thinking was how he'd like to tell her to "shut-up". Well of course Braden and his selective hearing heard this. Seriously, you all know what I'm talking about...you can be right next to them telling them it's time for the bath and they don't respond. But rip open a fruit snack or pop open a soda can in the next room and they are running to you at full speed. Anyway, Braden immediately starts telling Brian, "Ooh you said a bad word-you need a time out." So trying to be the good example Brian took his 3-minute punishment in stride. I guess it wasn't that bad, at least he was able to take his egg burrito with him.

Brian, you did the perfect thing...you showed Braden that even adults make mistakes and have to suffer the consequences. What a great father and example to the boys. You look like a big version of Tan-tan and with that look (refer to Tan's impression of Santa Claus several blogs back)...lol.

Sometimes I want to send myself to time out!! ;) So funny!!
That's hilarious. Grant will call out any adult who says "stupid" or "butt." I love it.
This is classic! Way to be a good example!
This is a great story.
